Job summary

Signature Performance, Inc. is seeking an Outpatient Coding Auditor to lead quality reviews and audits, collaborating with department managers to ensure policies are followed and standards are met.

You will review documentation for accuracy, provide feedback, and educate coders to improve reimbursement outcomes. A formal coding program and credentials are preferred, with a focus on continual process improvement.

Qualifications

• Formal coding program completed with AHIMA/AAPC credentials preferred and 5+ years of professional medical coding/reimbursement experience.
• National auditing credential preferred (CPMA) or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS; medical terminology; anatomy and physiology; and health record content.
• Understanding of coding guidelines and Coding Clinics with ability to apply resources to audit findings.
• Experience with Multi-Specialty Outpatient Clinic for Facility and Pro-fee services is preferred.
• Proficiency with multiple client systems and MS Office applications.
• Cerner, EPIC and 3M 360 Encompass experience preferred
• Academic medical facility auditing experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Creates clear audit findings and recommendations in written reports used to advise Coders, Auditors, Managers, and Directors.
• Identifies documentation issues impacting coding accuracy and communicates opportunities for documentation improvement.
• Provides guidance to staff in identifying and resolving coding issues and error trends for improvement.
• Delivers continuing education to coders and staff regarding changes in coding and reimbursement systems.
