Job summary

UofL Health is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant for the Outpatient Center in Louisville, KY. The role supports the medical team with triage, vitals, EKGs and injections, using the EHR to maintain accurate patient records.

The ideal candidate has a Medical Assisting degree (or equivalent), at least one year of experience, and current CMA/CCMA/RMA certification with BLS. High school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assisting degree preferred.
• One year of medical assisting experience preferred.
• Medical Assisting certification (CMA/CCMA/RMA) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) with American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Obtains medical history and triages patients.
• Records vitals and reconciles medication list in EHR.
• Responds to tasks and notifies physician of abnormal results.
• Assists physician in exam room (sutures, dressing changes, minor procedures).
• Schedules surgeries/tests and coordinates hospital admissions.
• Maintains surgery schedules and handles patient communications.
• Registers patients, collects paperwork and copayments.
• Ensures HIPAA confidentiality and compliance.
