Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Licensed in Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
• 2 years of clinical experience relevant to unit scope.
• Basic Life Support; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support within 6 months for Critical Care.

Responsibilities

• Oversees assigned department or function to ensure it performs effectively, including hiring/training staff and implementing business strategies.
• Implements evidence-based practices such as discharge phone calls, leadership rounding, AIDET and HML conversations.
• Develops and implements patient safety programs and ensures staff are clinically competent in patient safety; monitors NSI performance daily and conducts education/mock MSETs.
• Provides overflow support for serious incidents as needed.
• Collaborates with community organizations to develop and maintain contracts as appropriate.

Outpatient Clinic Nurse Manager Job Responsibilities

• Oversees assigned department or functional area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, hiring and training team members, creating and implementing business strategies, managing performance of team members, and delegating tasks.
• Continuously seeks ways to improve by ensuring implementation of evidence-based practices such as, but not limited to, discharge phone calls, leadership rounding (i.e. patients, physicians and internal customers), AIDET and HML conversations.
• Participates in the development and implementation of a patient safety program and ensures that staff is clinically competent/trained in their role in patient safety. Monitors NSI performance on a daily basis. Conducts education and mock MSETs. Participates in clinic specific drills.
• Ensures additional overflow support for serious incidents.
• Works with community organizations to develop and maintain contracts as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Licensure: Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
• Experience: 2 years of clinical experience related to the unit's scope
• Certification: Basic Life Support; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support within 6 Months for Critical Care
