Job summary

Benevolent Family Services in Hampton, Virginia seeks an Outpatient Therapist to deliver evidence-based mental health treatment to children, adolescents, and families within our outpatient programs. You will assess, plan, and implement individual, group, and family therapies using CBT, TF-CBT, and Play Therapy.

Collaborate with caregivers, schools, and community supports; document sessions in the EMR; and maintain confidentiality and ethical standards while offering flexible evening hours.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or MFT.
• Active or license-eligible status in Virginia (LPC/LMFT/LCSW/LMHP-R).
• Minimum of one year of direct clinical experience with children/adolescents/families in settings such as outpatient, school-based, or community mental health.

Responsibilities

• Conduct biopsychosocial and diagnostic assessments for children/adolescents.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with client/family goals.
• Provide individual therapy using CBT, TF-CBT, Play Therapy, and related modalities.
• Facilitate family therapy to improve communication and family dynamics.
• Lead groups addressing social skills, emotion regulation, and coping.
• Maintain EMR documentation per standards and confidentiality.
