Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Outpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The successful candidate will provide clinical care in pediatric subspecialty clinics in Austin, participate in medical student and resident education, and contribute to research and program development.

This role includes collaboration with Seton Family of Doctors and Ascension Seton, CPWE program

Qualifications

• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Texas.
• Board certified in general psychiatry and board-certified or board-eligible in child and adolescent psychiatry with commitment to become certified within 2 years.
• Eligible for credentialing and privileging by Ascension Seton.
• Eligible for credentialing and privileging in the local mental health authority.
• Eligible for appointment as an assistant professor or higher in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
• Demonstrated leadership, clinical teaching, evaluation, and communication skills.
• Innovative self-starter with commitment to excellence and initiative to drive program development.
• Tenacity and teamwork across professional and administrative levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient pediatric psychiatric care in subspecialty clinics.
• Collaborate with Seton Healthcare Partners to deliver integrated care.
• Participate in medical student and resident education.
• Contribute to research initiatives and educational program development.
• Support CPWE program and hospital/on-call coverage as needed.
