Job summary

Memorial Health System is seeking an Outpatient Services Technician to provide full patient registration and basic care in the Outpatient Services center. You will perform phlebotomy, EKGs, drug screens, and specimen collection, while ensuring patient privacy and accurate EHR data entry.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance, collecting out-of-pocket liabilities, and referring accounts to financial counselors as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Phlebotomy training with certification preferred.
• BLS certification required or obtained on orientation.
• Medical Assisting coursework or prior healthcare experience preferred.
• Typing and basic medical terminology essential; good interpersonal skills; comfort with computers.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify information in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Perform phlebotomy, ECGs, drug screens and specimen collection as needed.
• Explain orders to patients and maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Assist with basic patient care and patient flow in Outpatient Services.
• Collect insurance information and assist with financial counseling as needed.
• Maintain compliance with policies and assist with daily operations.
