Ashtabula Regional Medical Center in Ohio is hiring an Outpatient Clinical Care Assistant (OCCA) to support safe, patient-centered care in ambulatory settings under provider and nurse supervision. The role handles patient intake, rooming, specimen collection, diagnostic testing, treatment support, patient education reinforcement, and EHR documentation to help smooth clinic operations.

Candidates should have at least a high school diploma, English proficiency, basic anatomy and math knowledge,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to read, write, and speak English as well as follow oral and written instructions
• Understanding of human anatomy sufficient to perform job duties
• Knowledge and understanding of basic patient care activities
• Basic knowledge of math
• Interpersonal skills to interact with all staff, patients, and family members
• Strong organizational skills to set priorities, organize work activities, and complete assigned work

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care in the ambulatory setting under direction of the provider and nurse
• Perform patient intake and rooming, specimen collection, diagnostic testing and treatment support
• Reinforce patient education and document in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure efficient clinic operations and positive patient outcomes
