Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide patient treatment under supervision, across outpatients and inpatients as part of the continuum of care. The role involves documenting progress in the electronic health record and educating patients and families about treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state of current practice.
• BLS Basic Life Support (required within 30 days for RSFH)
• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate therapeutic interventions as directed by the Occupational Therapist and monitor response to treatment.
• Maintain accurate and concise records on treatment provided and patient’s progress.
• Observe and report patients’ responses to treatment and progress to the Occupational Therapist.
• Collaborate with Occupational Therapist and other health team members to exchange and discuss patient information for planning, modifying and coordinating treatment programs.
• Assist in assessment of client’s daily living skills and capabilities to determine extent of abilities and limitations.
• Designs and adapts equipment in working/living environment.
