Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for an ambulatory clinic setting. You will support clinicians by gathering patient information, communicating via phone and in person, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive care.

The role requires BLS, completion of a MA program or equivalent experience, and basic computer/Data entry skills. Prior ambulatory care experience and EMR proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or one year of Medical Assistant Experience or has a current RN/LPN license.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Clinician, the Medical Assistant will provide care to patients by assisting the provider to gather information that is relative to the patient’s visit and condition.
• Responsible for communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions.
• The Medical Assistant will work with cross functional teams to collaborate on patient care. Attention to detail and follow through are key components in helping to provide the care that is needed.
• The Medical Assistant will demonstrate proficiency in basic Medical Assisting skills as well as have experience providing care in an ambulatory setting.
