Job summary

Willingway in Statesboro, GA seeks a Behavioral Health Associate I to support a multidisciplinary treatment team onsite. You will monitor client behaviors, perform safety checks, and assist with data collection, charting, and crisis response.

Responsibilities include facilitating groups, promoting participation, and using de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe environment. Requires a high school diploma and CPR/First Aid training; prior psychiatric care knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.
• Knowledge of common psychiatric disorders and/or dual diagnosis and various treatment modalities of the population served preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the wellbeing of clients and provides a safe, positive, supportive, and structured environment.
• Conducts safety checks and ensures supervision per guidelines.
• Interacts with clients and encourages participation in group therapy and unit activities.
• Engages with clients to support treatment goals and activities.
• Takes and records vital signs and reports changes to supervisor/charge nurse.
• Charts in client records timely and accurately.
• Applies de-escalation techniques to manage emotions and behavior.
• Assists with unit organization, admissions/discharge processes, and incident reporting.
• Provides transfer or transportation for clients as needed.
• Receives shift report and prepares for incoming shift.
• Welcomes new clients and orients them to activities and programs.
