Thisiscny in Syracuse is seeking an Outpatient Administrative Specialist to provide clinical administrative support in the ambulatory area, handling registrations, referrals, authorizations and billing tasks. You will compile data, answer inquiries, and assist providers and staff with the referral and authorization processes.

The role requires strong communication, healthcare terminology knowledge, and familiarity with medical billing; EPIC experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and two years of relevant patient financial/insurance services experience.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, billing/insurance requirements, and medical coding.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; computer skills and keyboarding are necessary.
• Ability to maintain good public relations with patients, visitors, co-workers and others.

Responsabilités

• Provide clinical administrative support to the ambulatory area.
• Assist with registration, check-in/check-out, and demographic/insurance data entry.
• Compile monthly activity data and prepare reports as needed.
• Manage EPIC Referral Work Queues and handle referrals/authorizations.
• Obtain insurance authorizations, reviews, and manage denial processes efficiently.
• Advise patients on insurance requirements and collect co-pays; handle ABN and waiver signatures.
• Support other areas as assigned.
