Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Supervisor – F&B, a Restaurant Server provides exceptional personalized service and ensures all guests’ needs are met in a prompt and efficient manner. They must set priorities and simultaneously manage multiple tasks, react to guest requests and challenges in a skilled manner, and provide intuitive service that consistently wow VIP guests. A Server will stay informed about all Casino facilities and services, special events, and local attractions, and will engage in professional, friendly conversation while maintaining confidentiality. They must present a professional appearance that guests and team members will find appealing and approachable.
Essential Functions
- Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Casino Bristol their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
- Greet each guest and provide superior guest service at all company Food and Beverage operations.
- Must maintain a pleasant and courteous attitude.
- Complete all opening and closing duties.
- Assist bussers in setting tables with clean dishes, glasses, and flatware in accordance with approved guest service procedures.
- Present menu to guest, suggest courses and appropriate drinks, and answer questions regarding food preparation.
- Take drinks and food and beverage orders.
- Have basic knowledge of all house and call liquor.
- Serve meals to patrons according to established rules or etiquette, working in a family or formal setting.
- Check for quality after each course.
- Refill drinks when needed.
- Maintain clean ashtrays.
- Buss tables as needed.
- Remove all dirty dishes and glassware from the guest’s tables during and after each course.
- Totals bill, presents check, collects settlement, and takes payment to cashier.
- Assist bussers in clearing tables and dirty dishes, glasses and flatware in accordance with approved guest service procedures.
- Transport dish cart to and from service station/steward’s station.
- Stock server stations with all necessary items.
- Assist bussers in maintaining the general cleanliness of all public areas, including carpeted and tiled floors, furniture, and waitress stations.
- Re‑supplying provisions on guest tables, all venue areas and waitress stations, including backup glasses, silverware, and dishes.
- Adhere to sanitation standards as outlined by State Law and company.
- Maximize profit and guest satisfaction through effective cost controls.
- Adhere to all three‑star standards.
- Work considerately with team members from all departments.
- Check out with supervisor before leaving at the end of shift.
- Other departmental related duties and assignments as directed by management.
Non-essential Functions
- Attend seminars when needed.
Education and/or Experience Requirements
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency preferred.
- Ability to read and write English required.
- Must have good communication skills and maintain a friendly, personable attitude at all times.
- Two years’ guest service experience in a family or formal dining environment.
- Casino Food & Beverage experience strongly preferred.
Additional Requirements (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.)
- Must have a valid Food Handlers Card, Liquor License, and Gaming Badge when working.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to withstand noisy and smoke‑filled environments.
- Must be able to stand 50% of shift, walk 45% of shift, and sit 5% of shift.
Pay Range
$2 - $25/Hourly
