Goodwill Industries International’s Austin-based Outlet is hiring an Outlet Sales Associate to provide friendly, professional customer service at the first point of contact. You will handle cash transactions, assist with merchandise routing, and support the management team to maintain an efficient, welcoming sales floor.

We seek individuals with basic math and computer skills, weekend availability, and a focus on accuracy and great service.

Formación

• Minimum six months of prior work experience or equivalent education preferred.
• Ability to understand English and interact with customers and employees.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer service to all customers.
• Basic math computations and accuracy under pressure.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications and internet.
• Flexible with hours and weekend/holiday shifts.
• Bilingual ability is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Provide friendly customer service by greeting customers and guiding them in-store layout.
• Accurately handle cash, make change, operate cash register and card machine.
• Maintain knowledge of merchandise and answer questions courteously.
• Keep sorting tables stocked and floor neat; assist with pricing when asked.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards.
• Adhere to the supervisor's work schedule and maintain a clean register area.
• Familiarity with store security procedures and practice security measures.
• Perform outlet upkeep such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping surfaces.
• Occasionally assist donors outside the Outlet, greet donors and issue receipts.
• Convey our mission and vision to donors and customers.

Salary

The Outlet Sales Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service as a first point of contact for the Outlet customers. Additionally, this position has cash handling responsibilities. This position partners with team members in a fast-paced environment to expedite merchandise to and from Outlet sales floor; and provides operational support to the management team.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide professional and friendly customer service support by greeting customers and explaining store/outlet layout.
• Accurately handle cash, including, but not limited to, making change, operating and maintaining the cash register and credit card machine, and using a calculator when needed.
• Maintain knowledge of merchandise and answer customers questions courteously and promptly.
• Maintain Outlet sorting tables stocked with merchandise, keep floor merchandise neat and orderly (furniture), and assist customers with purchase selection/pricing if requested.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to Goodwill uniform standards.
• Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
• Adhere to work schedule set by supervisor.
• Maintain an orderly and clean register area.
• Maintain familiarity with store security procedures and exercise security practices when necessary.
• Perform Outlet store upkeep duties as needed to include sweeping, mopping and wiping production tables.
• Occasionally, assist donors and customers outside of the Outlet, greet donors, receive donations, and supply donors with receipts.
• Communicates our mission and vision effectively to our donors and customers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Required Skills And Qualifications

• A minimum of six months of previous work experience, or the equivalent educational or vocational experience preferred.
• Ability to understand English and interact with customers and employees.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service to all of our customers.
• Ability to perform basic math computations (e.g., computing percentages).
• Ability to work well under pressure and maintain accuracy.
• Basic working knowledge of computer applications and the internet.
• Willing and able to adapt to multiple demands and shifting priorities.
• Ability to work flexible hours and days including weekends and holidays.
• Bilingual preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
• The ability to cope with and tolerate moderate levels of stress is also a necessity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Ability to use hands and fingers to operate a telephone and keyboard.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles.
