Overview

The Bartender is responsible for setting up the bar area, mixing drinks for guests and servers, maintaining cleanliness, ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction, and controlling liquor inventory.

Responsibilities

1. Process guest checks, collect cash, and process credit cards and room charges according to standards.
2. Perform opening and closing side work to ensure prompt and efficient service.
3. Prepare beverages and cocktails according to standards, focusing on mixing, portion control, and presentation.
4. Serve guests food and beverages in a warm, friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
5. Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of lounge areas.
6. Be familiar with the computer system.
7. Handle cashiering functions, including closing checks and servicing guests.
8. Follow all state liquor laws.
9. Assist in managing beverage costs.
10. Serve liquor responsibly, monitoring for intoxicated guests, and report issues to management when necessary.
11. Complete beverage requisitions to maintain stock levels, using the bottle-for-bottle method.
12. Stock and clean glassware.
13. Check soda tanks to ensure they are full and properly secured.
14. Prepare garnishes.
15. Assist in cleaning tables and lounge areas as needed.
16. Ensure overall guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent; experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
2. Legal age to serve alcohol according to local laws.
3. Flexible with working long hours if required.
4. Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
5. Ability to stand throughout the shift.
6. Previous bartending experience is helpful.
7. Effective listening and communication skills.
8. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
9. Proactive in identifying and solving problems to improve productivity.
