Job summary

SA Recycling in El Paso, TX is seeking an energetic and highly organized Cashier to provide friendly, accurate, and safe customer service at the yard. You will process payments, complete required paperwork for individual and commercial customers, and support ongoing office tasks as needed.

This role may involve working outside in varying weather, complying with health and safety standards, and participating in bonuses and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent customer service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and time management skills.
• Mathematical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn industry software.
• Bilingual English & Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete all required records and documentation for payment of purchased scrap metal into the proper systems.
• Calculate daily transactions using computerized programs and balance cash drawer at the end of the day.
• Generate invoices, itemize lists and tickets noting materials and amounts due, verify weights, prices, and extensions.
• Assist current and potential customers with questions regarding the pricing of materials, the types of materials accepted, and maintenance of customer accounts.
• Provide relief and/or backup duties for the Office Assistant and Weighmaster.
• Assists with monthly closing reporting, and with inventory reconciliation as needed.
