Job summary

Columbia Sportswear seeks an Associate Apparel Designer for the women's lifestyle team, based in Carlsbad, CA. This hybrid role requires collaboration with design, tech design, and product development to ensure high-quality, on-time product development with strong construction details.

You will support from concept through pre-production, contribute to line reviews and ensure line sheets and PLM data remain accurate. Portfolio is required for application.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in apparel design, textiles, manufacturing, graphics or related field.
• 3–5 years of apparel design experience, outdoor industry preferred.
• Solid knowledge of fabrics and trims and garment construction methods.
• Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills with Illustrator; proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and provide accurate technical apparel illustrations and construction details for complex products.
• Own seasonal line sheet accuracy with updates to style, color, and BOM information in PLM.
• Prepare materials for line reviews, sales meetings, and Design Kick-off weeks.
• Enter color information into BOM in PLM and maintain brand standards.
• Attend style reviews and fit sessions and update sketches based on feedback.
• Meet deadlines and milestones; support women's lifestyle category projects.
