Job summary

Verdantas is seeking motivated individuals to join our FDOT Vegetation Maintenance team in Tampa. This field-based position involves outdoor work, equipment operation, and supporting transportation and environmental infrastructure projects along roadsides, ponds, and wetlands.

The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and hands-on field duties, including herbicide application, mowing, trimming, and documentation of daily logs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Florida pesticide applicator credential (one of listed) is required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Apply herbicides in accordance with product labels, FDOT specs and procedures.
• Perform hand removal, trimming, mowing, and tree/brush removal.
• Maintain stormwater ponds, wetlands, mitigation areas, ditches and rights-of-way.
• Remove trash, debris, and unwanted vegetation.
• Operate field equipment and assist with site access and safety compliance.
