Job summary

Stake Center Locating is seeking Locate Technicians to join our South Bend operation. We train you on the job and provide a clear path to grow within the company while promoting damage prevention in the community.

Starting pay is $21.25 per hour or more based on prior locating experience; the role involves outdoor work, problem-solving, and independence, with on-the-job training and a team that values safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day 2–3 times a week.
• Lift up to 25 lbs with or without aid; pass pre-employment background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Think Safety First!
• Use a tablet to receive, document, and process tickets and emails.
• Read maps, interpret blueprints, and determine the best method and sequence for locating.
• Use provided locate equipment and technology to accurately locate underground utilities.
• Communicate effectively with peers, managers, and homeowners.
