Job summary

USIC is seeking field technicians to locate underground utilities across our service area. You will work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, using a company vehicle and field equipment to mark locations and document findings. This is a full-time daytime role with training provided and opportunities for advancement.

No prior locating experience is required, but problem-solvers who value public safety will thrive. Overtime and on-call shifts may be needed.

Qualifications

• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Proficiency with technology.
• Able to pass a drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Able to read locate tickets and maps.
• Excellent communication with teams and customers.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems.
• Thoroughly search for underground utilities in a designated area, accurately marking the location, completing the necessary documentation, and photographing each locate.
