Job summary

ELM Utility Services in Mansfield, Texas is seeking a Utility Locate Technician to perform underground utility marking and ensure safe excavation practices. You will operate a company vehicle and use marking tools and a mobile system to complete daily locate requests.

Starting pay ranges from $24 to $30 per hour, with a full rewards package including benefits, PTO, holidays, 401(k), boot reimbursement, and performance incentives. Employment is safety-sensitive and requires DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen, MVR, and background check.
• DOT position compliant with federal regulations; marijuana is prohibited.
• High School Diploma or GED and minimum 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Work outdoors with company vehicle as mobile office, completing daily locate routes.
• Accurately locate and mark underground utilities using marking paint, flags, and whiskers.
• Receive daily tasks via mobile work system.
• Possibly work on-call rotation and overtime including nights/weekends.
• Must read, understand and communicate in English.
