Job summary

ArborMetrics (AMS) in Birmingham, AL is seeking an Utility Arborist to support vegetation management. You will work outdoors, conduct patrols along energy corridors, assess tree risk, and apply ISA pruning techniques per client standards.

You will coordinate with landowners and agencies, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Ideal candidates have forestry/arboriculture experience, GIS familiarity, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline (education may be required depending on client contract)
• Experience in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture or tree-related green industry preferred
• Knowledge of tree identification and GIS software/technology

Responsibilities

• Organize patrol records, maps and paperwork; maintain documentation
• Safely patrol energy corridors, identify vegetation for pruning/removal per client standards
• Classify work based on field conditions; use herbicide where appropriate
• Conduct Tree Risk Assessments and analyze growth rates
• Coordinate with landowners and agencies; communicate work plans and obtain permissions
