Job summary

ArborMetrics Solutions (AMS) seeks a Maintenance Transmission Utility Forester in Virginia to support Dominion Energy. This field role focuses on environmental compliance during land clearing and linear construction, with a strong emphasis on independence, safety, and customer interactions.

You will oversee ROW clearing, conduct danger tree assessments, and serve as the UVM SME for clients and landowners, ensuring safe, reliable service and proactive communication.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry.
• One year direct UVM experience.
• Solid local tree identification skills.
• Ability to read maps.
• Willingness to work alone outdoors in varied weather and terrain.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, smartphones).
• Ability to travel throughout the region up to 100% during the work week.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of ROW clearing operations.
• Conduct danger tree assessments and supervise removals.
• Ensure safe and reliable electric service delivery to the public.
• Act as the SME for utility vegetation management (UVM) for clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure tree crews follow safety and arboricultural practices.
• Address customer concerns related to vegetation in easements.
• Negotiate with customers for tree removal as prescribed.
• Perform QA/QC inspections on completed vegetation work.
• Identify vegetative threats and develop mitigation action plans.
