Job summary

City of Lewiston seeks a skilled Traffic Maintenance Technician to construct, maintain, and repair traffic signals, street lights, and pavement markings. You will manage temporary traffic control for events and emergencies, and support roadway infrastructure.

Applicants must have a high school diploma and relevant experience; CDL preferred. The role requires on‑site work in Lewiston, with on‑call emergency duties and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and three years of increasingly responsible traffic maintenance experience (College coursework preferred).
• CDL preferred at time of hire; if none, obtain Class B license with tanker endorsement within 12 months; IMSA/OSHA requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair traffic signal equipment and related structures.
• Maintain street lighting systems and junction signage.
• Perform pavement markings, painting, and related tasks.
• Provide temporary traffic control for events and emergencies.
• Respond to emergencies on a rotating, on‑call basis.
• Assist in snow removal and other city maintenance work.
