Custodian for Summer 2025 - Pay wage of $16-$19.00 an hour

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Night/Summer Custodian Job Responsibilities

1. Empty trash in all classrooms, bathrooms, offices, and lounges daily.
2. Clean and disinfect all sinks, toilets, urinals, soap holders, paper towel holders, and toilet dividers daily.
3. Clean toilets with toilet bowl cleaner daily.
4. Clean all mirrors in restrooms with cleaner daily.
5. Stock all necessary paper products and hand soap.
6. Dust and wipe off computers and monitors weekly.
7. Wipe countertops in the teacher workroom daily.
8. Ensure the front entry/vestibule is neat and clean for the next morning—wipe down glass, vacuum, or sweep.
9. Thoroughly clean the art room floor every other day—mop or sweep.
10. Clean all drinking fountains with disinfectant spray daily, including the top, front, and sides.
11. Vacuum all classrooms, offices, mats, etc.
12. Dust mop hallways daily; during winter months, clean floors daily when snow has been tracked in with the floor machine.
13. Change gym mops monthly and wet mops weekly.
14. Lock every door and window (if necessary), except in the gym and bathrooms.
15. Report any broken items, repairs needed, or supply shortages to the head custodian.

After School and Evening Events

1. Typically, the day custodian sets up, and the night custodian tears down.
2. Sweep and clean floors, empty garbage.
3. Sweep and close bleachers, noting any issues.
4. Stack chairs and store them properly.
5. Break down and store risers.

Additional Work - Time Permitting

1. Scrub hallway floors.
2. Dust classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, and offices.
3. Perform extra cleaning in overlooked areas as necessary.
