Job summary

Lewis Tree Service is seeking a Spray Technician to support utility vegetation management by safely applying herbicides and pesticides along rights-of-way. You will operate diverse spray equipment, identify vegetation and select treatments, while maintaining accurate records and adhering to safety protocols.

The role emphasizes teamwork, regulatory compliance, and ongoing training or certifications. A CDL is preferred and CPR/First Aid is provided by Lewis as part of the benefits package.

Qualifications

• State pesticide/herbicide applicator license required.
• Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
• Ability to follow herbicide labels, guidelines and safety procedures.
• Attention to detail when mixing, measuring and applying chemicals.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification provided by Lewis.
• Herbicide applicator certification or ability to obtain.
• Compliance with applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

• Mix and apply herbicides and other chemicals per label directions.
• Operate truck-mounted sprayers, backpack sprayers and handheld applicators.
• Identify vegetation targets and select treatment methods.
• Monitor weather and environmental conditions for safe application.
• Calibrate equipment and adjust nozzles, pressure and flow.
• Maintain records of chemical applications and areas treated.
• Inspect, clean and maintain spray equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Communicate with property owners and customers.
• Work with a team to complete work orders.
• Assist with vegetation assessments and site surveys.
• Ensure regulatory compliance.
