Job summary

Conservation Legacy is seeking two Recreation Technician Crewmembers for the AmeriCorps AZCC program at the Tonto Basin Ranger District. You will support daily operations of developed campgrounds and fee sites under supervision, with training across inspection, fee education, and public contacts.

The position runs from February to July 2027, typically 40 hours per week, with Forest Service housing possibly provided. Preference given to candidates with outdoor enthusiasm and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm for working in the outdoors.
• Ability to share and get along well with others.
• Self-starter who can work as a team or alone.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Some knowledge of public lands and recreation opportunities.
• Valid driver's license with clean record (over 21 or license held 3+ years).

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily operations of developed campgrounds and day-use fee sites.
• Learn fee compliance, educate the public on Forest Service rules and regulations.
• Perform routine inspections and assist with reservations and site maintenance.
• Coordinate with Crew Leader and other crewmembers on duties and patrols.
• Assist in annual and seasonal inspections and site improvements.
• Support housing and transportation logistics for field operations.
