Job summary

The State of Utah seeks a Project Manager for the Outdoor Recreation Initiative in Salt Lake City. You will staff the ORI program, coordinate with federal and local partners, and drive compliant project delivery across a variety of outdoor recreation projects.

You will implement long-range planning, manage complex schedules, and help build systems to track progress and outcomes for diverse stakeholders including state agencies and NGOs.

Qualifications

• Project management experience with diverse stakeholders on public lands.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field as listed in qualifications.
• Experience with environmental permitting and NEPA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work with a dynamic program team to identify projects and provide staffing support.
• Liaise between Utah’s Division of Purchasing, contractors, municipalities, and federal agencies.
• Use planning documents and regional councils to identify priority projects.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards.
• Lay the foundation for tracking systems to monitor project progress.
