Job summary

Road & Rail Services is seeking a Railcar Inspection Technician in West Point, GA. You will inspect, clean, and prepare railcars for service, using tools to remove debris and assess damage. Training is provided; physical outdoor work is required, with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Valid state-issued driver's license is required.
• Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other weather.
• Ability to perform physical work throughout the shift.
• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Inspect railcars for visible damage, wear, fatigue, and maintenance concerns.
• Clean railcar interiors to prepare them for loading and transportation.
• Use backpack blowers, scrapers, and hand tools to remove debris.
• Inspect, open, and close railcar end doors.
• Identify railcar repairs that may be completed by Road & Rail Services.
• Report damage, safety concerns, and equipment problems to management.
• Maintain assigned tools and equipment in safe condition.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Follow all safety policies of the company, customer, and railroad.
• Complete additional cleaning, inspection, and housekeeping duties as assigned.
