Outdoor Rail Yard Driver (Casual) – Weekend Shifts

Job summary

AWCT is hiring several Rail/Shuttle Casual for day or night shifts. This part-time role involves loading/unloading, moving vehicles in the yard, and preparing railcars per AAR standards. Shifts run 5:30am–5:30pm or 5:30pm–5:30am with weekend work required.

Outdoor work, PPE use, and safety compliance are essential. Applicants must pass drug tests and background checks, have a valid driver's license, and be able to work in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods and shifts up to 10-12 hours.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings, including drug testing and background check.
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and handle vehicle movement tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles to and from yard locations and rail cars.
• Park vehicles in proper locations and bay them correctly.
• Adhere to AWCT, customer, AAR, safety, and quality standards.
• Follow safety guidelines to perform duties safely.
• Identify vehicles and document or scan VINs as required.
• Inform managers of issues affecting production, safety, or quality.
• Log processed work into tracking systems as required.
• Read and match VIN numbers quickly and accurately.
• Review work orders and related documents to complete tasks.
• Inspect vehicles for damage before unloading and report issues.
