Job summary

The City of Renton is seeking a Maintenance Services Worker 1 to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in all weather. You will operate light equipment, load materials, and assist with street and solid waste duties under supervision.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this classification.
• Background checks including criminal and driving record.
• Certificates required within six months and within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Remove litter and debris from roadways and right-of-way.
• Operate light equipment and vehicles; assist with heavier vehicles under supervision.
• Load/unload materials from trucks; use PPE as required.
• Perform traffic control duties for co-workers and contractors.
• Maintain regular, reliable attendance; participate in cross-training as directed.
• Support city priorities during emergencies.
