The Growing Tree Children’s Center, operated by Rooted & Rising, seeks an Early Childhood Educator to join the team in Milwaukee. The role focuses on outdoor education and holistic learning, collaborating with teachers to plan daily activities for art, music, language and motor development.

The ideal candidate is energetic, community‑minded and committed to high‑quality care, with strong relationships with children and families and the ability to adapt to a growth‑driven program.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification current or willingness to obtain within 60 days.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs and participate in outdoor activities.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a preschool/childcare setting.
• Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children and families.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily activities in art, music, language, and motor development, including outdoor play.
• Plan weekly activities for science, math, and multicultural experiences.
• Maintain a portfolio of observations, assessments and growth for each child.
• Ensure welfare, health, and safety of all children in the Center.
• Meet individual needs of children and participate in training as needed.
• Provide written progress reports using observations and assessments for parents.
• Provide a safe, confidential environment and collaborate with staff, administration and parents.
• Attend parent conferences, staff meetings and parent functions as designated.
• Meet reporting requirements and adhere to standards of courtesy, attendance and dress code.
