Job summary

The Westervelt Company is seeking a Land Stewardship Tech SE in Auburn, AL. The technician will manage land and habitat projects, operate field equipment, and support monitoring and restoration efforts from the Auburn office, with travel as needed.

Regular full-time role requiring 2+ years in land management. A valid driver’s license and ability to work in varied weather and remote settings are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 2+ years of related experience (ranching, farming, forestry, wildlife or land management).
• Ability to work independently in field conditions.
• Overnight/week-long travel as needed.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct land stewardship and site maintenance activities including weed control and vegetation management, mowing, fence repair, water and irrigation management.
• Operate, maintain, transport and repair equipment (UTVs, tractors, trailers, mowers, etc.).
• Facilitate site access with lessees, easement holders and utilities.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for land stewardship activities.
• Maintain and troubleshoot on-site monitoring equipment ( groundwater wells, rain gauges, stream gauges ).
• Provide water management on properties and support habitat restoration efforts.
