Job summary

The St. Joe Company is seeking a Landscaper to maintain ornamental plants around buildings, parking lots, and outdoor areas at Alys Beach, Florida. Primary duties include mowing, trimming, pruning, and assisting the Lead Landscaper and Superintendent.

Responsibilities also cover planting, watering, fertilizing, pest control, debris removal, and basic maintenance of fixtures and equipment, with a focus on safety and guest relations.

Qualifications

• Detail oriented and thorough.
• Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly way.
• Ability to read, write and speak and communicate in basic English.
• Excellent organization skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Working knowledge of horticulture.
• Ability to operate maintenance equipment safely and properly.

Responsibilities

• Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds and walls.
• Rake, mulch, pull weeds and prune the grounds as needed.
• Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes.
• Water plants and grass and apply fertilizer.
• Apply pesticide to rid grounds of pests.
• Sweep walkway of debris; shovel snow and sprinkle ice for safety when needed.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment used in groundskeeping.
• Maintain grounds and building areas including fountains and features as required.
