Job summary

The St. Joe Company / St. Joe Resort Operations is seeking a full-time Landscaper to maintain ornamental plants and grounds at Camp Creek Resort—Inlet Beach, FL. The role involves mowing, trimming, pruning, and assisting the Lead Landscaper and Superintendent as directed.

Responsibilities include lawn care, planting, watering, fertilizing and pest control, plus light repairs and general maintenance of outdoor spaces to support guest safety and experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to read product labels and communicate in basic English.
• Previous groundskeeping experience preferred.
• Detail oriented and able to work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and edge around walks and beds.
• Rake, mulch, weed and prune the grounds.
• Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes.
• Water plants and grass and apply fertilizer.
• Apply pesticide to manage pests around grounds.
• Sweep walkways and maintain outdoor spaces.
• Perform maintenance on groundskeeping equipment.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The role of Landscaper is responsible for maintaining the ornamental plants by propagating plant materials for ornamental use around buildings, parking lots, and other areas. Additionally, the role of Landscaper is responsible for mowing, trimming, and pruning as needed while also assisting the Lead Landscaper and Superintendent as directed.

Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions

• Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls
• Rake, mulch, pull weeds and prune the grounds as needed
• Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes
• Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer
• Apply pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitos, wasps, ticks, and others
• Sweep walkway of debris
• Shovel snow from walkways and sprinkle ice down to keep people from falling
• Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger
• Install and maintain lawn furniture and other outdoor fixtures, such as rock, cement, lighting, and water features
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping
• Perform groundskeeping and building maintenance duties, including routine tasks such as applying plaster, fixing fountains, and other general maintenance as needed
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and communicate with guests about job-related needs.
• Ability to read write and speak, and communicate in basic English preferred
• Previous experience in a similar position preferred

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time during shift
• Must be able to withstand frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, and walking
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Working Conditions

• Primarily outdoor
• Exposure to sun, heat, cold, and weather
• Exposure to hazardous chemicals and dangerous equipment (with PPE)
