Job summary

The Tennessee Aquarium seeks a Landscape Technician to perform general landscaping and maintenance across its grounds and facilities in Chattanooga, TN. The role involves groundskeeping, water feature care, lighting, and routine facility maintenance, with a need for some weekend and holiday work.

Must have a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and a valid driver’s license (preferred). Training in pool operation is a plus; strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently are

Qualifications

• Certified Pool Operator Certification preferred.

• Mechanical aptitude for facility and grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness of the grounds, parking lot, walkways, water features, and buildings on the Aquarium Plaza.
• Grounds maintenance: mowing, weed eating, trash pickup, pressure washing, landscaping and irrigation systems maintenance.
• Operates and maintains water features on the Aquarium Plaza including pumps, filters, and water quality management.
• Facility and grounds lighting; re-lamping and minor repairs.
• Performs maintenance on finishes such as handrails, door hardware, and painting.
• Prevents maintenance tasks on air handling equipment: change filters, clean coils, belt replacement.
• Performs work in a manner that reflects the Aquarium’s mission and service standards.
