Job summary

City of Forney is seeking a dependable Technician II to join the Public Works Grounds team, performing maintenance of medians, landscaped areas, and other City facilities. This full-time, on-site role requires working outdoors to keep city properties in good condition and safe for the community.

The position involves mowing, trimming, operating mowers and trimmers, and assisting with irrigation, fertilization, and weed control as needed. A valid driver license and HS diploma are required.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid driver license.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year’s experience in general grounds maintenance and operating commercial mowers and trimmers.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass, trims trees and shrubs, maintains medians and flower beds, and collects litter.
• Operates various equipment, power tools, and hand tools in the performance of job duties; performs preventative and corrective maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Assists with mosquito control, fertilization and weed control, and irrigation installation, maintenance, and repairs as needed.
• Assists with special events and other departments as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
