Job summary

OLIVERS BUSHHOGGING LLC is seeking a Chainsaw & Weed Eater Laborer to perform hands-on outdoor work using chainsaws and weed eaters to clear vegetation and support landscaping projects. The role requires safe operation of power equipment, physical stamina, and teamwork in varied weather conditions.

Responsibilities include operating chainsaws and weed eaters, inspecting equipment, wearing PPE, and assisting with other general labor tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating chainsaws and/or weed eaters preferred; on-the-job training may be provided for qualified candidates.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic knowledge of outdoor power equipment safety and care.
• Reliable transportation and punctuality required.
• Valid driver’s license preferred (may be required depending on job site travel needs).

Responsibilities

• Safely operate chainsaws to fell small trees, prune limbs, cut brush, and process wood or debris.
• Operate weed eaters/string trimmers to cut grass and overgrown vegetation along fences, buildings, sidewalks, roadsides, and ditches.
• Clear, gather, and dispose of cut materials; load debris into trucks, trailers, or chippers as required.
• Conduct pre-use equipment inspections and basic maintenance (fueling, oiling, cleaning, replacing string/blades).
• Wear and use all required PPE, including chainsaw chaps, eye/ear protection, gloves, hard hat, and sturdy footwear.
• Follow safety policies, guidelines, and job-site instructions at all times.
• Assist with general labor tasks when not operating power tools.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and store tools properly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
