Job summary

Lewis Tree Service is hiring a Groundperson to support vegetation management for utility partners and other clients. You will clear vegetation around power lines, operate chainsaws and sprayers, and travel to job sites. Safety is emphasized and training is provided.

Qualifications include groundperson certification (or ability to complete), valid driver's license, CPR/First Aid, and herbicide applicator certification. This role offers ESOP benefits and paid training.

• Groundperson certification or ability to complete
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
• CPR/First Aid certification provided by Lewis
• Herbicide applicator certification or ability to complete
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and maintain safety
• Commitment to following state, local, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Clear vegetation and debris around work sites near power lines (tree pruning, vegetation removal, lift logs)
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment like chainsaws, chippers, blowers, and sprayers
• Assist climbers by spotting from the ground, handing up tools, and using hand lines
• Assist with rigging and felling of trees
• Safeguard colleagues and the public from hazards in the work area
• Travel frequently to different job sites and participate in safety briefings
