Job summary

Wright Tree Service, Inc. is hiring a Groundperson to support vegetation maintenance along power lines. You’ll perform ground-based tasks, cut brush with hand tools, help load debris, and assist with herbicide applications while following safety rules and company policies.

The role requires operating equipment like chainsaws, woodchippers, and pruners, with on-site training and adherence to OSHA regulations. Expect outdoor work, physical activity, and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to read and follow safety instructions and work orders.
• Ability to operate and maintain tools and equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Loads vehicles and equipment with manageable size limbs and logs.
• Works on the ground using hand saws, ground saws or other applicable tools to cut brush, limbs and logs.
• Gathers brush, limbs and logs and carries to the designated chipping area.
• Applies herbicide and growth regulators to brush and stumps.
• Operates vehicles and equipment safely, including chainsaws and chippers.
• Adheres to safety policies and OSHA regulations while educating others on proper methods.
• Signals and directs traffic to protect workers and the public.
• Maintains a neat work area and performs routine vehicle/equipment maintenance.
