Job summary

Timmons Group in Oil City, PA is seeking a Telecommunications Field Technician to join our Telecommunications & MRE group. The role focuses on collecting GPS positions, photos, and attribute data for utility assets in the field, with an emphasis on data integrity and security.

Responsibilities include coordinating with GIS Field Surveyors, walking long distances with equipment, and engaging property owners to explain the data collection task.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Working knowledge of data conversion using ArcGIS, AutoCAD or Microstation.
• Ability to assist analysts in researching and recommending new methods, equipment, or programs.

Responsibilities

• Collect GPS positions, photos and attribute data for utility assets in the field.
• Comfortable walking moderate distances carrying equipment.
• Engage property owners to explain the data collection task and its necessity.
• Manage data files daily to ensure data integrity and data security.
• Interpret map information to determine the best approach to surveying project areas.
• Coordinate with GIS Field Surveyors, Field Supervisors and Project Managers to complete work.
