Job summary

Timmons Group is seeking a Telecommunications Field Technician to join our Telecommunications & MRE group in Oil City, PA. The role involves inspecting assets and analyzing infrastructure in collaboration with leading electrical and telecom companies.

Essential duties include GIS data collection, data integrity, and communicating technical information clearly. Candidates should be physically able to lift 20 lbs and work under varying weather conditions with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Experience with data conversion using ArcGIS, AutoCAD or Microstation.
• Assist analysts/project manager in researching new methods/equipment.
• Strong written and oral communication of technical information.
• Ability to lift and carry 20lbs across varied terrain and weather.
• Self-motivated, flexible, detail-oriented and able to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Collect GPS positions, photos and attribute data for utility data related to electric and telecommunications assets in the field.
• Comfortable working outside independently in challenging conditions daily.
• Ability to walk moderate distances carrying equipment.
• Engage property owners and discuss data collection tasks and its necessity.
• Manage data files daily to ensure data integrity and data security.
• Interpret map information to determine the best surveying approach.
• Meet or exceed client quality standards.
• Maintain equipment and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Work with limited supervision.
• Maintain company vehicle care.
• Collaborate with GIS Field Surveyors, Field Supervisors and Project Managers to complete work.

The Telecommunications Field Technician will work with leading electrical and telecommunication companies to inspect assets and provide analysis of infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesof a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

• Maintains equipment by caring for and providing basic troubleshooting
• Works in an efficient manner while requiring limited supervision
• Responsible for basic maintenance and care for company vehicle
• Works cooperatively with other GIS Field Surveyors, Field Supervisors and/or Project Managers to complete assigned work

Skills/Requirementsof a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

• High school diploma/GED
• Ideal candidates will have working knowledge and experience with data conversion using ArcGIS, AutoCAD or Microstation
• Must be able to assist the Technical Analysts/project manager in researching and recommending new methods, equipment, or programs to better accomplish tasks
• Good oral and written communications skills; ability to communicate technical information, ability to research, interpret and summarize data
• Ability to lift and carry 20lbs across diverse terrain for long distances and in a variety of weather conditions
• This individual must be highly motivated, a self-starter; flexible, detail-oriented, enjoy interacting with employees and clients; willing to work at a dynamic pace to complete

Compensation:Our best estimate of the hourly range for this position is $20.00-$25.00. Offers are based on a range of job-related factors such as internal equity, experience, skills, education, credentials and role complexity.
