Job summary

The Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) Gatlinburg Great Outpost Store is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Specialist. This full-time role manages inbound and outbound shipments, processes retail inventory, and maintains an organized warehouse environment.

You will report to the Gatlinburg Store Manager and ensure accurate logistics and inventory control. Strong organizational skills, experience with UPS/FedEx, and proficiency with Lightspeed POS or similar systems are preferred.

Qualifications

• Retail receiving experience preferred; Lightspeed POS experience a plus.
• Familiarity with UPS and FedEx systems preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Quick to learn POS and inventory systems; strong organizational skills.
• Able to lift up to 70 lbs safely; valid driver’s license; 40-hour workweeks and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process all shipments, including FedEx, UPS, and freight deliveries.
• Accurately process incoming retail inventory and store-to-store transfers.
• Pack and ship Ecommerce orders promptly and professionally.
• Maintain shipping/receiving records and logs for both retail locations.
• Drive product between Bryson City, Asheville, and Gatlinburg locations as needed.
• Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and optimized for efficiency.
• Collaborate with store management on layout and loss prevention strategies.
• Communicate and resolve shipment discrepancies with vendors and the buying team.
