Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Field Technician to support safe and reliable electrical distribution operations in the Dayton, OH area. The role focuses on field inspections, data collection, and documentation of low voltage distribution equipment.

You will measure and map systems, record equipment on poles, and prepare minor work orders while adhering to NESC and safety standards. The position offers a contract-to-hire pathway and onsite work across Dayton/Kettering.

Qualifications

• Ability to conduct detailed visual inspections of outdoor distribution equipment.
• Ability to collect, record, and organize field data for reports and work orders.
• Basic computer skills, including Excel for data entry and reporting.
• Proficiency using field devices like laptops, tablets and GPS for data capture.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Dayton-area office daily and prepare for field work.
• Conduct visual inspections of overhead and underground equipment for safe operation.
• Compile accurate field data and prepare minor work orders.
• Maintain organized reports of distribution equipment, inspections, and measurements.
• Measure and map Low Voltage Distribution systems for design and planning.
• Identify and record equipment on poles and associated hardware.
