Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking field technicians to sample and test concrete on active job sites in Michigan. You will operate field tests for slump, air, temperature, and cylinder casts, and verify soil density with a nuclear gauge, recording results the same day.

No prior experience required; comprehensive on-the-job training is provided and all essential certifications are sponsored by the company. Outdoor work, physical activity, and site communication are core aspects.

Qualifications

• Entry-level welcomed; on-the-job training provided.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Certifications sponsored by the company.

Responsibilities

• Sample and test fresh concrete per ASTM C172, C143, C231, C1064, and C31.
• Run field density and moisture tests per ASTM D6938.
• Prepare clear daily field reports tied to placement locations.
• Maintain gauge standardization, cure boxes, and chain of custody.
• Communicate results to superintendents on the spot.
