Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services is seeking Field Data Technicians to collect detailed field information for utility and telecom projects. The role is outdoors, often involving hiking between poles to capture data that supports design work.

The position requires routine overnight travel and occasional longer assignments, with employer-sponsored training and potential per-project pay incentives. A strong safety mindset and reliable transport are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical background preferred.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications or electrical distribution is a plus.
• Desire to work outdoors in all weather and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Ability to read and follow GPS maps and convey data accurately.
• Willingness to travel overnight 1–2 weeks at a time and around locations.

Responsibilities

• Collect field data in outdoor environments to support fiber optic and utility projects.
• Submit organized data including maps, notes and digital images for each project.
• Operate and maintain tablet, camera, measuring tools, and PPE.
• Represent Osmose professionally in the field with clients and teams.
• Communicate daily with project management and follow safety guidelines.
• Work safely and independently with minimal supervision.
