Actalent is seeking an Entry Level Field Technician in Dayton, OH to support safe and reliable distribution systems. The role focuses on field inspections, data collection, and documentation of low voltage equipment, with hands-on experience in measuring and mapping assets.

The position is contract to hire, onsite in Dayton, offering 20.00–22.00 USD per hour and opportunities to learn NESC standards while growing within a field services team.

Qualifications

• Outdoor field inspections of electrical distribution equipment.
• Collect and organize field data for reports and work orders.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel for data entry and reporting.
• Operate field tools safely and accurately.
• Willing to learn NESC and utility standards.
• Able to work in a physically demanding outdoor setting.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• High attention to detail in measurements and mapping.

Responsibilities

• Report to Dayton-area office daily for assignments.
• Perform visual inspections of overhead and underground equipment.
• Compile field data and prepare minor work orders.
• Maintain organized reports of inspections and measurements.
• Measure and map low voltage distribution systems.
• Identify equipment on poles and document hardware.
• Conduct pole inspections and basic structural assessments.
• Support safety audits and metering activities.
• Use laptops/tablets and GPS to log data in real time.
• Collaborate with field and office teams to meet deadlines.
