Job summary

Pali Institute in Running Springs, CA, is hiring for Fall 2026 with August–September start dates. Instructors deliver outdoor education and leadership programs, teaching both in-cabin and field sessions, with overnight housing for staff during the season.

The role requires a college degree or equivalent program experience, prior camping/education experience with children, and the ability to work in a large team. Housing, utilities, and other amenities are provided.

• Prior camp counselor experience is a plus.
• Experience working with children (preferably grades 4–12).
• Ability to work in a team with 100+ staff.
• Be flexible and adapt to changes quickly.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of children while teaching outdoor education, science, and leadership classes.
• Co-teach and also teach solo using an accredited lesson plan.
• Live in-cabin overnight with up to 11 children 2–4 nights a week.
• Manage cabin group during downtime with games, hikes, etc.

• Total Compensation Package from $1030-$1075 a week

  • Base pay $475-$520 with additional $50 for each night spent in cabin.

Instructors Role at Pali:
