Job summary

Western Colorado Conservation Corps is seeking a Crew Leader in Grand Junction, Colorado, to mentor a crew of 8–12 youths on trail construction, habitat restoration, and fence work. You will oversee daily operations, safety, Leave No Trace practices, and logistics while camping on project sites.

Prior leadership in outdoor settings is preferred, with a focus on organization, communication, and physical endurance.

Qualifications

• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Willingness to lead outdoor conservation projects.
• Ability to work with youth and diverse groups.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding labor in varied weather.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and lead a crew of 8–12 individuals, 17–28 years old, on trail and habitat projects.
• Oversee camp operations and safety practices including Leave No Trace.
• Coordinate logistics and transportation for field projects.
• Plan meals, manage supplies, and track project expenses weekly.
• Lead and participate in training, tool use, and project documentation.
