Job summary

Sierra Nevada Journeys is seeking a dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and upkeep of our Outdoor Education Camp in Portola, CA. This full-time role reports to the Facilities & Land Director and includes basic carpentry, repairs, groundskeeping, and equipment upkeep to keep facilities safe and operational.

The successful candidate will have hands-on maintenance experience, enjoy outdoor work, and a willingness to learn new skills.

Qualifications

Clear and professional communication with staff, contractors, vendors, and participants.
Follow organizational policies, procedures, and safety rules.
Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding tasks.
Experience using common hand and power tools safely.
Fingerprint-based background check completed.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs to keep facilities safe and functional.
Complete maintenance checklists and work orders for buildings and assets.
Carry out carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and drywall tasks.
Use tools safely and prioritize repairs based on safety and urgency.
Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and servicing.
Communicate maintenance needs to the Facilities Director.
Assist with pool facilities, vehicles, and maintenance equipment.
