Job summary

Sierra Nevada Journeys is seeking a dependable and hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and upkeep of our Outdoor Education Camp. This is a full-time position with opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

Under supervision, you will perform semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and groundskeeping tasks across buildings, equipment, and infrastructure, ensuring safety and readiness for program activities.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate clearly with staff, contractors, vendors, and visitors.
• Experience with general facility maintenance and outdoor work.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors.
• Experience using common hand and power tools safely.
• Fingerprinted background check completed.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends/holidays.
• Immunizations up-to-date for school-attendance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of camp facilities, grounds, and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs to keep facilities safe and functional.
• Complete maintenance checklists and work orders regularly.
• Carry out basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and more as needed.
• Maintain records of repairs and maintenance activities.
• Assist with pool and vehicle maintenance and grounds care.
